Had the privilege to volunteer at the Christmas store again this year. They help make many area families holiday's little brighter. I'm proud to be apart of this beautiful community and welcome anyone who can donate their time to help.
My boyfriend and I have fallen behind on some of our bills. We showed up and with in 15 minutes we were seen by Mary. We also needed food and even got a cake. Thanksgiving dinner is also being delivered to us. I hate asking for help but this place is amazing. No question about it. Everyone was so kind. I’m truly grateful for that. I have things I’d love to donate.
This place is very super helpful from the people to getting things you really need for a house especially when you’re in need. Very great attitudes and they really do understand you. God is amazing as well as these people and the volunteers. God bless everyone in this place .
worst experience ever! yes they did help with any household items & food however when it came to rent assistance they took there sweet time. causes a late fee to be added. i just ended up paying the full total plus late fee myself. i’m appalled that y’all will make people wait & then not even get back to them regarding the assistance.
Been donating our things we don’t need or use here for years now, and also reached out for help in the past for my electric bill, if it was needed. And they were always so kind to assist, even if it was a little or not often, it is still the point that they are genuine and caring people.
Went to donate clothes and a few household items. Very well organized; did not even have to get out of the car. Have arrange pickup for larger items -- the send a truck, and their volunteers take anything I have to donate.
Well so far my experience was decent, the crosswalk guy and kid directing traffic where you donate, great help and such good manners and polite and helpful and courteous. But then a lady with really short hair and glasses and short came out and she was kinda rude when I explained what I was there for and got told to pull in round about there and she goes and walks off while I was still speaking and asking a question because I'm not from arlington and I don't know my way round there, the kind black young man that was walking with this lady turned and paused and actually listened to my question and gave me directions of where I could go which I greatly appreciate his help. The lady was rude and acted snobbish and Luke she didn't care at all and seemed bossy. That's not a good attitude to have round the holidays and at a church type function or where people take their family's for assistance. If she thinks she's to good for the job or just doesn't like being there (the impression that was put off) then she should go work somewhere else. Out of the 5 people that was there that I encountered she was the ONLY ONE with a bah humbug attitude! I left disappointed due to her fasaude and demeanor. "Ms Scooge" it wouldn't kill you to smile or treat people respectful as I used my manners to you being you are an elder, you should treat people with respect as well as they do unto you. Hope you ma'am have a Merry Christmas and you lighten up and quit putting off that aura of being stuck up! You are not better then anyone else, God created us equal as the son suffered and endured for all our sins beforehand. God bless you!
They don’t offer no financial assistance . No rental , no electricity nothing they advertise or say over the phone. You come in wait for a long time they bring you in the back make it seem like they going to help then say they don’t cover it or they don’t have the funds to cover what’s needed. Then they pray for you and send you on your way.
